DETAIL

Reed mats

Lakevale specializes in reed weaving for both decorative and functional effects.
You could have brought sleeping mats with you: waterproof, woven reed mats that roll up into tight bundles, to go between your bedroll and the ground. These could be plain or colorful.

Parchment art

Lakevale produces a lot of parchment, and you could easily have a leather-bound parchment journal or book.

Horn work

Antlers and horns from various game animals are often carved into decorative objects, such as utensil handles, coat hooks, buttons, etc. Are your buttons carved from horn? Maybe a piece of jewelry or a comb? Drinking cup? Small box?

Pottery

Everyone in Lakevale does at least a little pottery for utilitarian purposes, but some people have developed quite skillful techniques for creating beautiful cups, bowls, plates, candleholders, and more. Did you bring any?

Sculpture

Several types of soft stone are found near Lakevale, and this is sometimes sculpted into rough but beautiful objects. Do you carry any carved keepsakes or mementos?

Woodcarving

Nearly everyone in Lakevale has some skill with woodcarving, and there are many decorative objects carved from wood in the village. Cups, bowls, or other utensils; buttons, lids, and back covers of sketchbooks?

Henrietta took with her:

  • Sandstone carving, made by her Father.
  • Reed mats as well as the rolls given to them by the Salenain.
  • 2 parchment journals - one is blank.
  • 3 pottery cups drinking her tea.
  • 1 wood bowl for eating.
